What we believe and our purpose as Christians...
| What Do We Believe? 1. We believe there is one! One. Found in the persons of the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who indwells the true believer. 2. The Bible - We believe that the Bible is the Word of God. It is inspired by God. It is inerrant and infallible in the original text. 3. Salvation – We believe that all people have sinned which has separated them from God. We believe that God became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ who died on behalf of us, paying the penalty of sin. We believe He rose again showing His power over sin and death. We believe that we all need to believe and trust that His payment alone gives us salvation. We believe that it is very clear in Scripture that true believers, indwelled by the Holy Spirit, cannot lose their salvation. 4. Communion & Baptism – We believe that God wants us to celebrate communion in some way regularly. We believe we are all to be baptized after becoming a true believer. While both celebrations are honoring to God, we believe they contain no special spiritual power for salvation. Our Purposes Worship Worship brings God glory. Worship is living your life in a way that you enjoy God, love Him, and give yourself to be used for His purposes. Romans 6:13b Fellowship Loving other believers brings God glory. Believing in Christ includes belonging to the family of God and learning to love them. John 13:34-35 Christ-likeness We bring God glory by becoming like Christ. The more you develop Christ-like character, the more you will bring glory to God. 2 Corinthians 3:18 Ministry We bring God glory by serving others with our gifts. Your gifts, talents, skills and abilities were given to you for the benefit of others, just as other people were given abilities for your benefit. I Peter 4:10-11 Sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ Reaching and equipping others brings God glory. Introduce others to Jesus, help them discover their purpose and prepare for eternal life. 2 Corinthians 8:19 |
